The Triple Eight Performance Centre has produced several special addition Vauxhall cars during the past few years as well as providing bespoke performance upgrades to Vauxhall owners cars from all over the U.K. In 2001 Triple Eight produced one-hundred Astra Coupés to celebrate the cars on track BTCC success. Despite this being the first major foray into road car development for Triple Eight, the project was critically acclaimed by the motoring press. One-hundred Vauxhall Astra specials based on the Astra 1.9tdci were produced in 2006. Triple Eight worked their magic to produce a 200bhp diesel car with sports-car performance and handling. The Astra-van 888 Turbo was just a one-off show vehicle with no plans for sale, although potential customers’ reaction could very well turn the project into reality. In 2008 the Performance Centre has already been busy adding custom exhaust systems to 650 special edition Vauxhall Astra Nurburgring`s. |
