Consistency is the key for MG RCIB Insurance Racing
MG Racing RCIB Insurance and our driving duo of Josh Cook and Ash Sutton, are on the hunt for a solid haul of points and podiums as the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) reconvenes, following the traditional six week summer break, at Snetterton next weekend (30-31 July).

With the MG6 GT’s performing well at the Snetterton 300 circuit in 2015, the team are hoping for much of the same again this year following their battling display last time out at Croft where rookie Ash moved up the championship standings to 7th and took his maiden win, closing the gap to just 49 points adrift of the championship leader Sam Tordoff .   Ash remains at the top of the Jack Sears Trophy tables with a 57 point lead.

Josh had a similarly impressive last race of the at the Yorkshire venue after storming through the field to gain further points, sitting just 14 points adrift of his team mate in 12th, and a mere race win away from the top 5.

During the break we attended the annual Dunlop tyre test at Snetterton which came with great success a few weeks ago and both the boys are aiming to continue with the consistency they have showed so far into the second half of the season.

For Saturday’s qualifying session and the opening race of the weekend on Sunday morning, Ash will be carrying 27kgs of success ballast on board due to his championship position, with Josh having the advantage of being ballast free.

Team Principle Ian Harrison commented:  “We come off the back of some great results from Croft   and a good test at Snetterton with our feet planted firmly on the ground. We must build from what we’ve learnt and treat this and every one of the remaining events as stand-alone race weekends. The championship is ultra competitive and consistent results over the weekend is the key. We need to be driving back down the A11 on Sunday evening with a roof rack full of points.”
